About the role –

You will be part of our growing Civil Engineering team, based in our Bishops Stortford office. Throughout the duration of your Apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to develop your experience through education and practical live experience. You will have a buddy and dedicated line manager who will offer their advice and support you through your learning.

At the end of the course, you will be awarded with a L6 qualification and would have significantly developed your technical expertise relating to Bridges and Rail Engineering in the following ways: feasibility and inception through to detailed design, specification/contract preparation and construction input.

 

This course will likely be held on a block release basis in the ARU Chelmsford campus. 

 

To be considered

  • You must have at least 5 GCSE’s grade 5 or above and completed a relevant Level 3 course (Apprenticeship, BTEC, A Levels or T-Level).  
  • Be a British citizen who’s lived in the UK for the last three years before the first day of your apprenticeship (aiming to start September 2024)
  • Have a keen interest in the subject matter in hand

 

Where will this take you?

Upon completion of the 5 year course, progression doesn’t stop there. We will continuously look to develop you further into the business as an Engineer/Consultant and further progression beyond.

 

We have an excellent development programme that will enable you to have bespoke opportunities for you to shape your career in the way that best suits you.

  • Develop your knowledge and understanding of design principles
  • Learn the codes, rules and regulations within your specific area of expertise.
  • Gather data, present finding and collate reports.
  • Assisting colleagues in project delivery
  • Managing your workload and deadlines
